1. Introduction
Welcome to Skutus. This Seller Policy explains the rules, responsibilities,
and processes for anyone selling on Skutus — the university marketplace for students.
By registering as a seller or listing items, you agree to follow this policy.
2. Who Can Sell
Anyone may register as a seller.
Skutus is built primarily for students but is open universally.
Sellers must provide truthful information during registration.
- Students should use their school ID to verify their store location.
- Graduates and non-students must provide a valid store address.
3. How to Apply for a Seller Account
- Click Apply for Seller Account at the bottom of the site.
- Complete the registration form and submit accurate information (name, email, location — school location for students or store address for others).
- Wait for review: applications are reviewed within 24–48 hours.
- After approval you may set up your store. If you need assistance, contact our support for help (a service charge may apply).
Verification: Account verification may take up to 72 hours. If verification is not complete after 72 hours, contact support.
4. Product Listing Requirements
- List only original, lawful products. Counterfeit or illegal items are strictly prohibited.
- Provide clear, accurate product titles, descriptions, and images so customers know exactly what they are buying.
- If offering discounts, clearly state the discount and the original price.
- Include product condition, size, quantity, and any important usage or safety notes.
5. Commission & Pricing
Skutus charges a 5% commission on every successful sale.
Commission is deducted automatically from the seller’s gross sale amount before the payout.
- Sellers set their product prices. Consider the commission when pricing your items.
- Skutus may update commission rates; sellers will be notified in advance.
6. Payments, Holds & Withdrawals
- Seller earnings (sale amount minus the 15% commission and any applicable fees) are available for withdrawal.
- For security, Skutus may temporarily hold funds until the buyer confirms receipt of goods.
- Sellers can request withdrawals at any time. If a withdrawal is delayed, contact support after 24 hours.
- Seller request payment will be on hold if there is any pending order that has not been confirmed by the buyer.
- Payouts are processed via the payment methods available on the platform (bank transfer, wallet, etc.).
7. Order Fulfillment & Delivery Times
Delivery expectations:
- Domestic (same country): within 7 days of order date.
- Cross-country (international): within 21 days of order date.
Sellers should provide tracking where available and keep buyers informed. Repeated late deliveries can lead to penalties or account review.
8. Returns, Refunds & Disputes
Refund conditions:
- Buyers must report damaged, missing, or materially not-as-described items within 7 days of delivery for domestic orders and 14 days for cross-country orders.
- When a valid claim is made, sellers are expected to cooperate with returns or replacements. Skutus may require photographic evidence or return of the item before issuing refunds.
- If a buyer requests a refund and the seller does not comply, Skutus may step in to investigate and make a determination. Decisions are made based on submitted evidence.
- Refunds processed by Skutus may reduce or reverse the seller payout related to that sale.
To avoid disputes, accurately describe items and ship within the promised timeframe.
9. Prohibited Activities & Items
The following are not allowed on Skutus:
- Counterfeit, stolen, or illegal goods.
- Hazardous or regulated items sold without proper authorization.
- Misleading product information, fake reviews, or attempts to manipulate ratings.
- Directing buyers to purchase outside Skutus to bypass fees.
Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your seller account.
10. Fraud, Liability & Law Enforcement
Sellers suspected of fraudulent activity will be investigated.
If found guilty of fraud, Skutus will suspend the account and may share evidence with relevant authorities.
Any legal action will be governed by the laws of the seller’s region and the buyer’s region where applicable.
11. Intellectual Property & Content
Sellers must own or have the right to sell the items they post.
Do not use copyrighted logos, images or brand names without permission.
Skutus will remove listings reported for IP infringement when appropriate.
12. Account Suspension & Termination
Skutus reserves the right to suspend or terminate seller accounts for violations, repeated buyer complaints, fraud, or illegal activity.
Suspensions may be temporary pending investigation.
13. Privacy & Data
Skutus protects seller and buyer data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Seller data used for verification may be retained to comply with legal and security requirements.
14. Changes to This Policy
Skutus may update this Seller Policy from time to time.
When material changes are made, we will notify sellers by email or via the platform.
